Gastric Pull-Up
Using part of the stomach to replace the swallowing tube when it has been removed, usually due to cancer.
Gastroesophageal Reflux
Backup of fluid from the stomach into the swallowing tube causing heartburn and possible long-term damage to the swallowing tube. Also called gastroesophageal reflux disease.
Gastrostomy
A tube that goes directly into the stomach through the skin of the abdomen that allows nutritious fluid to be given to a person who is unable to eat enough food to keep them healthy.
