Gender role
Attitudes, patterns of behavior, and personality attributes defined by the culture in which the person lives as stereotypically 'masculine' or 'feminine' social roles.
Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
A psychiatric condition in which the main symptoms are chronic worry and fear that seems to have no real cause. There may be many associated physical reactions, such as trembling, jitteriness, sweating, lightheadedness and irritability.
Globus hystericus
The disturbing sensation of a lump in the throat.
Glossolalia
Gibberish-like speech or 'speaking in tongues.
Grandiose delusion
A delusion of inflated worth, power, knowledge, identity, or special relationship to a deity or famous person.
Group Therapy
This form of therapy involves groups of usually 4 to 12 people who have similar problems and who meet regularly with a therapist. The therapist uses the emotional interactions of the group's members to help them get relief from distress and possibly modify their behavior.
